Hey all,

In some ways it's disappointing to finish be *that* close to winning it, and not quite make it.  But at the same time, the Frozen Nutz are a really solid team.  Given that they have lost only one game over the past two seasons, I think we did a great job to take them to OT, and have a shot to come out with it in the end.

 Great job guys, and great season.  Hopefully everyone is back, and we can win the division next year.

"The 2008-09 Labatt Basketball General Meeting will be held on Monday, September 8, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in room 2d12 (second floor - Duckworth Centre). All teams are encouraged to have one team representative present at the meeting."

I had my first feature request this week when Andrew asked if we could get season Win/Loss records added to the Team Statistics page.

So I obliged him and you can now see what our record was for each season and our overall lifetime record and winning percentage. We're actually 10 games above .500 over the 6 seasons since I started recording stats.

Not too shabby.

The 2007-2008 season will be kicking off soon.  The league meeting is this Thursday (Sept 6) at the UofW and I will be attending.  We are trying to organize some pickup games at the South Y on Sunday mornings until we get our gym.  The application for the gym is in, by the way - thanks to Andrew for that.

Once I have the gym schedule and the game schedule they will be posted here. 

We are also looking for a couple of additional players.  We have some people in mind, but if you know of anybody looking to play that you think might be a good fit, speak up! 

Let's try not to get anybody kicked out of the league this year, alright? :-P

We now have a practice gym.  Monday nights at Grant Park High School from 8:30 to 10:30.

Also, the schedule for the first 2 games (one of which we already played) is up.  I'll update the site as soon as we receive the remainder of the first half schedule. 

Hi guys, the 2006-2007 season is starting soon. Rosters have to be in by September 22 and money has to be in by September 29. Andrew will be sending an email out shortly about getting together to get the registration filled out and the money in.

Also, in case you were not aware, we will not have Damian with us this year, due to his new status as the father of twin boys (congrats Damian!). Derek has also declared himself unavailable. So we are looking for a couple of guys to round out the roster.

In the final we are up against the Swisher Kings. We played them twice, and split the series (with our loss coming in double OT). Here is our chance to have Rods last season end in style.

According to the bracket currently on the wesmen site, this win advances us to the semi-finals, where we will be playing the Kareem Bros next. Skyhigh and Kareem Bros were the only teams we did not beat in the regular season, so we may as well take them out early.

Other than that, let's dominate this year.

I also gave Barry his 3 that he hit at the end of the game. They didn't give a 3 to anyone else in the second half, so I didn't take anything away from anybody else. As such, the final score according to the stats was 71-40 for us. I don't know if they didn't count that 3 by mistake or if they messed up somewhere else.
